3
Ways to Support HCA
We offer three distinct opportunities for you to invest in our mission and make a lasting impact on students' lives:

The Heritage Fund
Every Family, Every Year: The Heart of Our Mission
Tuition alone doesn't cover the full cost of providing the exceptional, Christ-centered education your child receives. Tuition covers approximately 65% of the actual cost per student. The Heritage Fund bridges this critical gap, supporting everything from competitive teacher salaries and classroom resources to technology, campus improvements, and student programs that make the HCA experience extraordinary.
Our annual operating budget is carefully set each year based on forecasted tuition revenue and the projected needs for educating our students with excellence. The Heritage Fund goal represents the difference between our total expenses and tuition revenue—the essential funding needed to maintain small class sizes, competitive teacher salaries, and the comprehensive programs that define the HCA experience.
100%
Participation Goal
$333,000
Fund Goal
When every HCA family contributes—regardless of the amount—we demonstrate a united commitment to our school's mission and create a powerful testimony of community support. Whether you can give $50 or $5,000, your participation matters and makes a real difference in the daily life of our students. It's not about the size of your gift—it's about every family being part of building our heritage together.
The Heritage Fund FAQ's
What is The Heritage Fund?
The Heritage Fund is Heritage Christian Academy's annual giving program that supports the day-to-day operations and ongoing needs of our school. This fund bridges the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of providing an exceptional Christ-centered education.
What is the goal of The Heritage Fund, and how was it determined?
Our annual operating budget is set each year based on forecasted tuition revenue alongside the projected needs for educating our students in that specific year. The Heritage Fund for that year is approximately equal to the difference between our projected total expenses and revenue. For the 2025-2026 school year, the goal for The Heritage Fund is $330,000.
What does my The Heritage Fund gift support?

How is The Heritage Fund different from tuition?
Tuition covers a significant portion of educational costs, but not the full expense of providing small class sizes, individualized attention, competitive teacher salaries, and the comprehensive programs that make HCA special. The Heritage Fund fills this gap and allows us to maintain excellence without raising tuition beyond what families can afford.
How is this different from the GASSO tax credit program?
GASSO funds are specifically designated for tuition scholarships to help families afford HCA. The Heritage Fund supports all aspects of school operations—teacher salaries, classroom resources, facilities, programs, and more. Both are important ways to support HCA, and we encourage families to participate in both if possible.
Is The Heritage Fund gift tax-deductible?
Yes, Heritage Christian Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all gifts to The Heritage Fund are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
Can I designate my gift to a specific area?
Yes, donors may designate their gift toward a specific area of need within The Heritage Fund, such as athletics, fine arts, financial aid, or other programs. Please indicate your preference on your pledge form or contact the school office to discuss your giving priorities.

When should I make my Heritage Fund gift?
-
Gifts for the 2025/26 campaign can be received until June 30, 2026.
How will I be recognized for my gift?
-
Gifts over $2,500 will be recognized as members of the 1984 Founders Society. All members will be listed on a plaque in the gym. There will be other opportunities for recognition throughout the year.
-
Can donors choose to remain anonymous? YES

Georgia Tax Credit (GASSO)
Taking Control of Your Georgia Taxes
In 2008, the Georgia General Assembly created the Georgia Qualified Education Expense (QEE) Tax Credit Program. This program allows individuals and corporations to donate tax credits to authorized non-profit organizations, which then fund scholarships at Georgia's private schools, including schools the donors recommend. This program is a massive help to our school. After a few easy steps, if you pay Georgia state taxes, you can direct that money to our school.
Step 1: Pledge
Complete the Georgia SSO pledge form. Georgia SSO will then submit your pledge to the GA Department of Revenue for approval. Do not delay—you could miss out!
Step 2: DOR Approval
When your pledge is approved, you can expect an approval letter from the GA DOR and an email notification from GASSO with your approved donation amount, letter ID, and Certificate number.
Step 3: Donate
Fulfill your pledge by donating on the Georgia SSO website. You will receive a tax credit receipt for the previous year's tax filing in January.
GASSO FAQ's
What is Georgia SSO?
Georgia SSO, or Georgia Student Scholarship Organization Inc., is a state-registered Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) and a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose function is to facilitate the process of distributing tax credits in exchange for donations and to distribute funds for private school tuition scholarships. Georgia SSO partners with over 135+ Georgia private schools and has provided more than $62 million in tuition scholarships supporting preK-12th grade.
How do I participate in the program?
It's an easy 2-minute process. Complete the Georgia SSO Tax Credit Form by December 31st, and Georgia SSO will submit your information on your behalf. Georgia SSO will receive your approval notice within 30 days. Once your Georgia Department of Revenue approval notice is received, fund your donation to Georgia SSO within 60 days of the approval date of your letter.
What is the deadline to qualify for the tax credit?
To receive a tax credit, you must pledge to donate by December 31st (BUT DO NOT WAIT, AS YOU RISK NOT GETTING PRE-VERIFIED) so that the DOR can approve you. You will then receive approval from the Georgia Department of Revenue in January. Once you receive approval, you then have 60 days from the date of your DOR approval letter to fund your donation to Georgia SSO.
